The news feed is just like your Facebook Wall. Here, you can add news that you find on the web about sustainability, or look at what other users have been up too.

Message Boards

The message board is exactly what you think it is. A place to ask questions about sustainability topics, such as green building, transportation, water resources, green living, food and agricultural practices, renewable energy and many others.

Groups

Groups are slightly different than you may think. When you start a topic on the message board you will be asked to select a topic group where your question will reside. In this sense, groups are topic based. For example, if Bill were to ask how to make sustainable farming a reality in his town, that would fall under the food and agricultural practices category.

Alliances

Alliances act similarly to Facebook pages. The conception of this component of the website will be to connect all the players in sustainability. Student groups, NGO’s, green business and Government agencies are all invited to collaborate with one another.

ECOmmunity

ECOmmunity is all about establish local sustainability by joining forces with those in your local community. The basis is similar to a classifieds page, but is directed towards bartering, volunteering, asking a favor, lending a hand, or hanging out with your neighbors. It’s Facebook for your community!

Events

Add local events that are taking place in your area. One of the founding principles of Green From Within was to Connect, discuss, and act. Here is where you take the power social networking to the real world.
